Tegenungan Waterfall
Maybe, like many other people, you love to discover local nature. In Bali, there are many beautiful spots worth exploring, including some beautiful waterfalls or vulcanos. If you are planning a way to Ubud, it makes a point going through this waterfall, where you can have a stopover to see the natural beauty created in this place. The Tegenungan Waterfall is quite big and a lot of water can run through it. If you do not go there after a stronger rain, water should be clear and you could take a bath here.
Despite the fact that the waterfall was quite dirty after heavy rains, we were still impressed by its power and majesty.
Your driver will stop at the top and you have to pay a parking fee (something around 5 USD). You will need to go down to the river and overcome more than hundred steep steps on the way back. We have done it with children and despite it is a bit demanding, everybody can surely make it. When you descend, you will be able to go closer to the falls going alongside the river. If you need to go to the toilet, you will be surely impressed by natural toilet made at the side of the river bank. On your way back, stop to buy souvenirs from local people or purchase a cold water to refresh your self after the steep climb.
How to Get There
Car with Driver
We recommend you see these falls on your way to Ubud, as they are located to south from Ubud. For approx. 80 USD you will have a car for the whole day and the driver takes you literally anywhere! To get to waterfalls, you will need around 1-1.5 hours, depending on the traffic. It is located about 27 km from Yoma Villas Bali.
It is true that the waterfall gets dirty after the rain because of so much mud coming through the river. But the size and sound is amazing. There is a light walk from the riverbank to below the fall, also mums with children can make it easily. I recommend seeing this waterfall while you are in Bali – the refreshment is worth it.
