Padang Linjong

Local Balinese life just a short stroll from the villa

Padang Linjong

To get to Padang Linjong, you walk from the villas and take a shortcut to the right after 200 metres. On this trip, you pass the local people and see true Balinese life. The narrow path takes you between rice fields, some of them with young rice waiting to be planted to nearby fields. You go through narrow streets that lead you to a more busy street of Padang Linjong. Here, you can find many local shops selling groceries, fresh fruit, sometimes grilled fish, coffee shops or small warungs. The people will be so happy to see you as not many tourists occur in this area.

You can walk this street to get to Echo beach, however, the road is an experience itself.

Local life and nature

Within this short stroll, you will see all the local nature and life. Skinny dogs or cats, poultry or sacred cows, all the colours of Bali including shrubs, palm trees or beautiful yellow, pink or red cambodia flowers. Only a few motorbikes will pass around when walking towards Padang Linjong and you will meet different local people who will be interested in where you stay and where are you from. Of course, some of them will offer you transport back and will be surprised that you are walking such a long distance as a few hundreds of metres. In total, it is 700 metres to reach Padang Linjong and the same distance to return back. If you have enough power and enjoy some fresh juice on the way, you can make it all the way until Echo beach, which waits you at the end of the Jl. Padang Linjong street. This will, however, make your trip significantly longer.

How to Get There

Walk

Go to the left from Yoma Villas, after 200 metres turn right to Jl. Pura Blulang Yeh. Continue through rice fields, then the roads gets wider and after a short walk, you will reach Padang Linjong. Walk down the street and return the same way, or get a cab for the way back.

Taxi

Suma will be happy to call you a taxi which takes you there in 5 minutes.

This is such a great article Wayan! It reminds us of a fantastic time spent in your villas last year and calls us to get back soon. We are thankful for your tips and also for this new website will all the travel and to-do ideas which we have to explore next time we come! Echo Beach is truly beautiful but for families with kids even these small trips around are a must. Our kids loved these local streets, small eateries on every second corner and we tried so many different kinds of Nasi Campur here. We encorage everyone to come to Yoma Villas as this experience is unforgettable for us. Thanks again…
